Theres beauty in any vintage Volkswagen but the beauty of an Oval really stands out.
Only build for 5 years but considered to be the best Volkswagen Beetle ever, period. Fabulous curves, perfect stance, great detailing and a body made of the highest quality steel. According to Wikipedia: During this period, the rear windscreen of the VW Beetle lost the "bar" in the center and as a result has been referred to as the "oval" beetle. Arguably, the oval beetle is perceived to represent the peak in quality of manufacture: for example, the grade and thickness of steel for the bodyshell was of the highest quality. Another example is the "Wolfsburg" crest on the front of the bonnet (or tailgate) was of the highest quality. In later years, as a sign of cost cutting, the crest was phased out.
